What You Will Work On

We run data-intensive projects across multiple industries — property management and compliance platforms, industrial AI systems in oil and gas, and workflow automation solutions. As a Senior Data Architect / Engineer, you will own the data architecture layer across these projects: designing and governing data structures, migrating and modernizing data platforms, and ensuring clean, scalable data is available for reporting and AI consumption. When capacity allows, you will also contribute to backend and full stack development across our client projects.

Your First Mission

Your immediate focus will be leading a data architecture upgrade for one of our clients — migrating from Azure Synapse to Microsoft Fabric and restructuring the data layer for international scale and AI readiness.

Responsibilities

• Design and own the overall data architecture across multiple client projects
• Lead the migration from Azure Synapse to Microsoft Fabric
• Design and implement scalable ETL/ELT pipelines and data transformation workflows on Microsoft Fabric and Azure
• Build clean, well-structured data models that serve both Power BI reporting and AI model consumption
• Integrate data from diverse external and internal data sources across multiple domains
• Work closely with Power BI developers to optimize the data layer and reduce transformation complexity inside Power BI
• Contribute to backend development — APIs, database design, and integrations
• Take on full stack development work when data architecture bandwidth permits
• Document data architecture, pipeline logic, and data models clearly

Working Hours

This is a full-time role working in the Norwegian time zone: 12:00 – 21:00 Vietnam time (ICT), Monday to Friday. The role is fully remote — work from anywhere in Vietnam.

During the transition period, the engagement starts on an hourly basis — this can be done alongside your current role. Once both sides are aligned, the role moves to a full-time arrangement.

Salary

2,000 – 2,800 USD per month (gross), depending on experience and seniority. During the hourly transition period, rate will be agreed separately.

Your Skills and Experience

• 5+ years of experience in data architecture and/or data engineering, with hands-on ownership in production environments
• Microsoft Fabric — required. Strong hands-on experience with Fabric, Azure Synapse, and Azure Data Factory
• Backend development — required. Solid experience in .NET/C# and/or Python
• Full stack development experience (frontend + backend) is a plus — familiarity with React or similar frontend frameworks is welcome
• Solid data modeling skills — star schema, data vault, ETL/ELT design patterns
• Familiarity with Power BI and how the data layer drives reporting performance
• Experience working with data pipelines that feed AI and ML models is a strong advantage
• Strong English communication skills — required. You will work directly with international clients and teams daily. Written and spoken English must be at a professional level. All interviews and day-to-day communication are conducted in English. Candidates must be fluent and comfortable working in English full time.
