Senior Bank Accountant For A Foreign Bank

Senior Accountant will be responsible for managing accounting operations, ensuring compliance with tax and SBV requirements, and supporting financial reporting in accordance with local regulations, and internal control frameworks of a foreign banking institution.

1. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1.1 Tax Compliance

• Prepare, review, and submit tax declarations in accordance with tax regulations.

• Ensure compliance with Corporate income tax, Personal income tax, VAT, withholding tax, and other relevant taxes

• Set up and issuing the Electronic-invoice system to all customers.

• Coordinate with tax authorities and support tax inspections or audits when required

1.2 Regulatory Reporting to the SBV, CIC, DIV and other state organizations.

• Prepare and submit regulatory reports to the SBV, CIC and relevant authorities accurately and on time.

• Setting up, testing and implementing the regulatory reporting system for IBK Vietnam.

• Ensure compliance with banking regulations, reporting standards, and regulatory guidelines

• Monitor changes in regulatory requirements and assess their accounting impact.

1.3 Accounting System & Ledger Management

• Maintain and control the bank’s accounting system and general ledger

• Record and reconcile daily banking transactions.

• Ensure accounting entries are properly recorded in accordance with accounting standards and internal controls

1.4 Financial Statements & Reporting

• Prepare daily, monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements

• Ensure financial reports are accurate, complete, and compliant with applicable accounting standards (VAS and IFRS)

• Support internal and external audits by providing necessary accounting records and explanations

1.5 Internal Management & Analytical Reporting

• Prepare internal financial and management reports for Managers.

• Analyze financial data, identify variances, trends, and potential risks

• Other required reports.

1.6 Other accounting tasks as required.

When internal departments and external stakeholders when required

• Minimum 3–5 years of accounting experience, preferably within banks or financial institutions

• Strong understanding of banking products, operations, and accounting treatments

• Experience in regulatory reporting and financial reporting in the banking sector is required

• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills

• High level of accuracy and attention to detail

• Proficiency in MS Excel and Word.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATION

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

• Professional accounting certifications such as ACCA, CPA, CMA, or equivalent are an advantage

• Solid knowledge of accounting standards, banking regulations, and tax laws

• Language: Intermediate English or Korean (Ability to conduct technical discussions and read/write technical documentation
