SCOPE OF WORK: As a core member of the Backend Development team, you will coordinate with cross-functional teams in 4 stages of product development, including planning, implementation, deployment, and operations.

Furthermore, if you have experience in—or the ambition for—acting as a Project Lead to mentor and lead a team of 3-4 Junior Backend Engineers, GEEK Up provides the ideal opportunity and environment for you to thrive in this capacity.

Understand business context and translate requirements (functional & non-functional) into technical solutions
Design and drive end-to-end solutions for system-level problems, including trade-offs across scalability, performance, security, and cost
Present and align technical solutions with both business stakeholders and internal engineering teams
Design systems and define clear modules/services with strong ownership boundaries
Break down solutions into execution plans, distribute tasks, and ensure delivery alignment
Implement core components/services with high quality, reusability, and maintainability
Ensure code quality via reviews, and drive best practices in design, testing, and implementation
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Product, Frontend, external teams) to ensure feasibility and integration
Validate and ensure quality of outputs through testing (unit, integration) and during system integration phases
Deploy features to production, ensuring readiness (config, performance, rollback, release coordination)
Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve production issues; take ownership of system stability
Own infrastructure, security, and system operations, including designing and building infrastructure, implementing monitoring/alerting, and ensuring system performance, reliability, and security.

Your Skills and Experience

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR: To start your adventure at our Backend Development team, you should have

Bachelor Degree in Computer Science or any related fields.
4-7 years of hands-on experience in Backend Development, with strong proficiency in at least one core programming language (e.g., Java, Golang, NodeJS, NestJS, Python, TypeScript...)..
Experienced in design backend architecture and system flows with an eye on scalability, security, and long-term reliability.
Confidently propose and visualize technical approaches based on blur requirements, include but not limited to database schema, flow diagrams, sequence diagrams,…
Write clean, maintainable, testable code with high performance in mind.
Show real curiosity for how data flows through systems, and how to model it well.
Experienced in deployment backend services on both Cloud and On-premise infrastructure; familiar with CI/CD pipelines, service scaling, performance analysis, and optimization is a big plus
Hands-on skills in Deployment and Monitoring using tools like Docker, Prometheus, Grafana, Git, etc.
Display systematic thinking, solid critical-thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
Be open to learning and adopting new technologies as needed.
Experienced taken part in mentoring, knowledge-sharing, or played a role in building up technical capabilities in a team, is highly preferred.
Experience in mentoring, leading features/projects, or guiding other engineers is a strong plus
Prior experience as Tech Lead or demonstrated ownership mindset (owning problems end-to-end, not just tasks) is highly preferred
