
Research and Teaching Assistant (RTA) in Business Analytics and Management Information Systems

Job Description
Assisting in teaching, research activities and administrative affairs.
Daily responsibilities
1. Assisting in teaching (average 4h-8h/week). Possible courses include but not limited to:
Information Systems Research
Digital Transformation and Innovation
Business Data Analytics
Management Science and Decision Making.
2. Formulating plan and contents of tutorials and carrying out tutorials and exercises
3. Maintaining and developing database of lecture slides, examinations and exercises
4. Assisting in research, prepare research proposals: working on research project(s) assigned by the supervisor, and assisting in and contributing to the overall research of the research group, presenting at conferences. This include:
Conduct intensive literature reviews and synthesize academic articles.
Collect, clean, and manage datasets from multiple sources.
Perform quantitative and qualitative data analysis.
Support development of research reports, conference papers, and journal submissions.
Assist with research documentation, referencing, and data organization.
Assisting in administration
Ensuring the smooth running of equipment necessary to achieve the aims of the lectures and exercises (e.g. computers, software packages, electronic journals, library)
Preparing and managing correspondence, documents and reports
Implementing and maintaining office and filing systems
Supporting the flying faculty in terms of organization of the stay and implementation of the lectures, exercises and practicals
5. Assisting in administration

Periodic/ Irregular responsibilities
6. Contributing to the development and implementation of other course programs in consultation with the study program coordinator and the partner university, as assigned by the supervisor
7. Contributing to the supervision of students in their study projects and final theses
8. Maintaining the homepage and social media fan page of the study program
9. Taking, typing and distributing minutes of meetings
10. Organizing and coordinating of internal and external events (meetings, conferences, research seminars, mini courses, travel arrangements)
Other duties
11. Acting as invigilator for exams of all study programs, if required
12. Implementing other duties as assigned by the supervisor
13. Participating the student recruitment and accreditation activities
Qualification: Master’s degree in Business Informatics/IT/Computer Science. English fluency: at least equivalent to IELTS 6.5 or higher is preferable).
Knowledge: Good knowledge in related disciplines and interdisciplinary domains
Skills
English: at least equivalent to IELTS 6.5
Good knowledge of Data Analytics/Machine Learning/AI
Experience in academic research and literature review
Experience working with survey data or experimental research
Experience with statistical software such as SPSS, SmartPLS
Experience with programming languages: R, Python, SQL
Experience with Web app and mobile app design would be a plus
Ability to work independently, systematically and in a practice-oriented manner
Ability to work on own initiatives and to deadlines
Ability to work as part of a team
Ability to present information to groups as well as individuals
Experience
Master’s degree
Experience in teaching support is preferable
Experience in working with industry is preferable

Working time: 8:30 – 16:30 Monday - Friday
