GHC is currently in search of an Associate to join its dynamic team and play a pivotal role in the execution and management of advisory projects. As an Associate, your primary responsibility will be to offer expert legal advice and support on various legal matters that GHC's Clients encounter in their day-to-day business operations. This role requires a strong focus on providing technically sound solutions and execution support to ensure our Clients receive the highest quality service.
THE KEY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF AN ASSOCIATE
An Associate at GHC will work closely with the section manager and other team members to execute and manage advisory projects, including but not limited to litigation, compliance and licensing support. Under direct guidance and supervision of the section manager, the Associate’s key roles and responsibilities would include:
> Leading advisory projects to assist clients with their law compliance, licensing activities, and resolution of ad-hoc issues (both regulatory and operational) that arise during the course of their business operations. This entails conducting comprehensive discussions with the clients, conducting thorough research to identify the challenges, engaging in strategic discussions to tailor effective solutions, and providing ongoing support to implement and execute the agreed-upon strategies.
> Planning and allocating tasks, providing oversight, and supporting the project team members to ensure effective and professional execution of project works. The Associate is also responsible for reviewing and refining deliverables (such as advisory memos, regulatory/economic/political assessment reports, and recommendations) prepared by team members, ensuring that they meet the highest standards of professionalism and quality.
> Training, coaching, and motivating junior team members during the execution of project works, and ensuring a strong commitment to delivering top-notch professional service within the entire project team. The Associate should actively contribute to the professional development of junior team members and ensure a cohesive and high-performing team working towards the successful completion of projects.
> Establishing and nurturing productive working relationships with clients and serving as a key point of contact between clients and the senior staff member of the project team. This would include implementation of effective interactions with the clients (such as emails, calls, and in-person meetings) for gathering essential information, addressing the client’s inquiries or concerns, and providing regular updates on the progress of ongoing project works.
> Reporting/updating or consulting with senior staff member in charge of the progress of project works and any challenges or developments that may affect the progress of the project or the quality of the deliverable.
> Participating in firm development works as appropriate.
KEY QUALIFICATIONS AND PROFESSIONAL CERTIFICATION
> Having a legal background in commercial or economic or international trade laws. Holding a Lawyer Practicing Certificate is an advantage.
> Having a background or a degree in economics is a plus.
WORK EXPERIENCE
> Minimum 3 years of professional experience in legal practices and/or policy development
> Experience with state-management or law enforcement bodies is an advantage
