The Job
- Lead architecture design and technical POCs to evaluate new data technologies and platform capabilities.
- Build, maintain, and optimize batch and streaming data pipelines and architecture; collaborate closely with the Systems team to develop and enhance infrastructure for the Data Platform.
- Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and compliance with data management best practices.
- Develop and maintain ETL frameworks for data integration.
- Collaborate with tech, business, and leadership to deliver high-impact data solutions.
- Stay updated with best practices in data engineering and share knowledge with the team.
- Establish engineering standards and reusable patterns to improve platform scalability and reliability.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship for a small team (1–2 engineers), guiding architecture decisions and engineering best practices.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a related field.
- 7+ years of experience in data engineering (building data pipelines, data models, and data warehouses/lakes).
- Experience with big data technologies and distributed frameworks (e.g., Spark, Kafka, Apache Iceberg); database systems such as PostgreSQL, ClickHouse, or NoSQL solutions like MongoDB; cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP); and workflow scheduling tools (e.g., Airflow)
- Strong Kubernetes expertise is required.
- Strong programming skills (Scala, Python, Golang or Java) and experience in CI/CD pipelines.
- Knowledge of real-time data and streaming applications.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a self-learning attitude.
- Good communication in English
