The AI and Data Governance Lead is responsible for building, operationalizing, and coordinating the enterprise AI and data governance program. This role establishes the governance infrastructure, operational processes, and steward network that enable the organization to manage AI initiatives and data assets responsibly, ethically, and in alignment with business objectives. You will play a crucial, hands-on role in moving our organization from siloed operations to a trusted, interoperable data fabric, ensuring we share data safely while strictly adhering to Vietnam’s evolving regulatory landscape. The role also acts as the lead coordinator between the Data Governance team and various Risk and Compliance, Systems and related technical functions.

Core Responsibilities

Support the daily execution of our Federated Governance model, ensuring that while our entities maintain operational autonomy, they adhere to non-negotiable ecosystem standards.
Participate in cross-functional working groups to troubleshoot data challenges and negotiate effectively with stakeholders to align data formats or processes for the greater good of the ecosystem.
Implement standardized definitions and maintain metadata management across our enterprise systems.
Utilize and support the implementation of tools for data cataloging, lineage, and daily governance operations.
Monitor and ensure enterprise data quality, integrity, and accessibility through established standards and performance metrics.
Work closely with Data & Analytics, IT, and Technology Product teams to ensure day-to- day data practices support compliance with privacy and security regulations, specifically Vietnam's consumer data protection laws.
Design and maintain the enterprise data governance framework including policies, standards, roles and decision rights
Lead development and enforcement of global policies for data quality, metadata, lineage, classification, retention, access, and usage.
Drive adoption of data and AI controls across business units and platforms, ensuring consistency and auditability.
Integrate data and AI governance by harmonizing policy and governance practices across functions and enterprises.
Operationalize AI project intake, risk and value assessment matrices, and sign-off workflows for AI initiatives
Coordinate AI project reviews with business sponsors, compliance, legal, and technical stakeholders
Monitor model drift, performance degradation, and fairness metrics; coordinate remediation with AI owners

Your Skills and Experience

Bachelor degree in Information Management, Data Science, Computer Science, Business Administration, or related field
3+ years of experience in data governance, AI governance, data management, or related program coordination role
Demonstrated experience building and coordinating cross-functional steward networks or communities of practice
Strong understanding of data governance frameworks, metadata management principles, and data quality practices
Solid familiarity with banking regulations, compliance, and privacy requirements, coupled with a deep understanding of Vietnam’s data privacy laws (PDP) and how they apply to data sharing
Familiarity with AI/ML lifecycle including model development, deployment, monitoring, and risk management
Knowledge of data protection regulations, AI ethics principles, and responsible AI practices
Proven experience working with data governance frameworks and utilizing modern data governance tools (data catalogs, data quality tools, etc.).
Exceptional negotiation and "Data Diplomacy" skills to successfully bridge gaps and build consensus between diverse business units. Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or equivalent practical work experience.
