Job Description

Job Summary

The Assistant Warehouse Manager supports the Warehouse Manager in overseeing daily operations of Raw Materials (RM), Packaging Materials (PM), and Finished Goods (FG) warehouses. The role ensures efficient planning, receiving, storage, picking, and dispatch activities with high accuracy and safety standards.

This position plays a key role in driving warehouse optimization, implementing WMS systems, enhancing team capability, managing inventory health (including SLOB and blocked stock), and supporting continuous improvement initiatives across warehouse operations.



Area of Responsibility

Warehouse Operations Management

• Support daily operations of RM, PM, and FG warehouses to ensure:

◦ Accurate receiving, put-away, picking, and dispatch

◦ On-time material supply to production and delivery to customers

• Manage material flow from production to FG warehouse (receiving, storage, dispatch)

• Ensure warehouse layout optimization for space utilization and efficiency

• Monitor operational KPIs:

◦ Inventory accuracy

◦ Picking accuracy

◦ On-time dispatch

◦ Warehouse productivity

• Ensure compliance with SOPs and standard processes

Raw & Packaging Material Planning and Control

• Coordinate with Supply Chain and Production teams for:

◦ Raw material and packaging material planning

◦ Receiving schedules and capacity readiness

• Ensure proper storage conditions and FIFO/FEFO compliance

• Optimize storage and handling to minimize damage and loss

• Improve material flow efficiency from inbound to production line

Finished Goods Warehouse Management

• Oversee receiving FG from production with accuracy and system alignment

• Ensure proper put-away strategy based on dispatch priority

• Manage order picking and dispatch with:

◦ High accuracy

◦ On-time delivery performance

• Coordinate with Customer Service and Logistics for shipment planning

Inventory Control & SLOB Management

• Maintain high inventory accuracy through:

◦ Cycle counting

◦ Stock reconciliation

• Monitor and manage:

◦ Slow-moving and obsolete stock (SLOB)

◦ Blocked / quarantine stock

• Work with Supply Chain, QA, and Production to reduce inventory risks

• Ensure proper handling of non-conforming materials

WMS Implementation & Digitalization

• Support implementation of Warehouse Management System (WMS) for RM, PM, and FG warehouses

• Ensure system accuracy between physical and system stock

• Train warehouse staff on WMS usage and best practices

• Drive digital transformation to improve traceability and efficiency

New FG Warehouse Setup

• Work closely with Warehouse Manager in:

◦ Setting up new Finished Goods Warehouse (FGWH)

◦ Layout design and storage concept

◦ Process and system setup (WMS integration)

• Support commissioning and operational readiness

Safety & 5S Management

• Ensure compliance with HSE policies and safe warehouse practices

• Implement and sustain 5S standards across warehouse areas

• Conduct regular safety inspections and risk assessments

• Promote safe handling of lubricant materials (base oil, additives, chemicals)

Continuous Improvement

• Identify and implement improvement initiatives:

◦ Process optimization

◦ Cost reduction

◦ Productivity improvement

• Support Lean / Kaizen activities in warehouses and factory

• Eliminate waste in warehouse operations (movement, waiting, overstock, etc.)

Team Development & Training

• Train warehouse staff to:

◦ Operate efficiently and safely

◦ Follow SOPs and WMS processes

• Build team capability in:

◦ Inventory management

◦ Equipment handling

◦ Safety awareness

• Support performance management and workforce planning

Stakeholder Coordination

• Coordinate with:

◦ Production (material supply & FG receiving)

◦ Supply Chain (planning & inventory control)

◦ QA/QC (quality & blocked stock handling)

◦ Logistics & Customer Service (dispatch planning)

• Support Warehouse Manager in cross-functional projects

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, Logistics, Industrial Engineering, or related field

Experience

• At least 5 years of experience in warehouse operations (manufacturing environment preferred)

• Experience in lubricant, chemical, FMCG, or similar industries is an advantage

• Hands-on experience with WMS / ERP systems

Technical Skills

• Warehouse operations and inventory management

• WMS / ERP systems (SAP preferred)

• Data analysis and KPI tracking
